Established in Stockholm and sold exclusively through cult boutique Weekday, Cheap Monday was born when designer and store owner Orjan Andersson wanted to create a snappy denim collection which would not only be affordable but would fit his own skinny legs. He put 800 pairs into production, and within a month he sold the whole lot. Expanding to exclusive boutiques throughout Europe, Cheap Monday quickly grew cult status and soon captured an international niche market. The label was named after the cheapest day of the week, “when all your money is spent on weekend fun. Mogil is a leather goods label by Gil Cowen which began life on a borrowed $1000 as a small 10-piece range of leather handbags, which she pieced together after hours. Inspired by a trip to Bali, where instead of lying on a beach, Cowen's attention was taken by the extraordinary skills of local craftsman. Having always had a penchant for design and an obsession with handbags, Cowen began thinking of ways to apply the traditional handmade aesthetics into her own range. Now in it's 5th year, the label has grown to extensive ranges for men and women with an instantly recognisable utilitarian, classic style with a raw toughness that is Mogil's signature style.
